Graham Charles is the principal of Image Matters Photography. He is one of New Zealand's most experienced outdoor practitioner/photographers and has been photographing outdoors New Zealand for over ten years. Graham has been teaching and guiding in the mountains and rivers for 22 years and literally 'wrote the book' on New Zealand whitewater kayaking. He has a passion for polar regions and has worked in the Ross Sea region of Antarctica as a safety consultant and on the Antarctic Peninsula as a lecturer and sea kayak guide and in the Arctic as a photographer and lecturer.


Image Matters specialises in taking cameras where very few are able. Into high mountains, deep river gorges or just plain hard to get to spots and conditions Image Matters has a reputation of being able to get material where few have ever been. Mobile around the world and New Zealand Image Matters Photography is able to capture events and light that really count.
